Vedic Workshop

Theme: Vedas and education
Dates: 18th November 2006 (Saturday) and 19th November 2006 (Sunday)
Background:
The whole life is a celebration with all its various colorful dimensions and with the core truth which lies as the foundational reality of all its dimensions. Vedas which exist for time immemorial are the original sciences to demystify the life. Ramayana is the literature, which reflects the Vedic values in day to day life. Web of Life Makers (Webolim) is an organization, which facilitates people to experience the treasured esoteric values of Vedas and Ramayana and inculcate them in their everyday life. It conducts regular workshops, classes, camps, lectures and demonstrations on Vedas and Ramayana around the country and abroad to elucidate the public on various topics of interest, thereby providing simple yet clear solutions that are always integrated to the �Fundamental Reality�.
It has conducted lectures / workshops on Vedas & Ramayana in Hyderabad (29th Feb 05), Karimnagar (July 10th), Bangalore, Mysore, Madurai, Singapore and Chennai. (July 25th.) These workshops had participants from various cities like Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Chennai, Cochin, Trivandrum and Bangalore. On continuing this endeavor, we are planning the next workshop in Madurai. No prior knowledge of Samskrit and Vedas are required for the participants. The lectures will be both in English. The workshop is open for all. Each workshop has different themes based on Vedas. Some of the topics in which Webolim has conducted the workshops are �Concept of Social Service in Vedas & Ramayana�, �Life forces in Vedas� & �Vedic Yoga� etc
The theme for this workshop is �Vedas and Education. To show how the concept of education in Vedic culture can bring overall personality development in one�s personal, social and spiritual life, this 2 days program is being organised. The lectures in this workshop will be conducted both in Tamil and English. We welcome people from all over India to utilize this program.
Schedule:
The schedule is given separately below. The camp will be covering the following topics:
  1. Introduction to Vedas
  2. Concept of education in Vedic literature
  3. Value education through Bhagavad-Gita
  4. Cognitive growth in Vedic Gurukulas
  5. Vocational education in Vedic culture
  6. Asanas, Pranayama & Meditation will also be taught in this workshop
Resource persons:
  1. Shri R.Rangan, MBA, is a spiritual guide and a young Vedic scholar, brought up in the traditional way in Vedic culture, did his Vedantic studies under Sri Sivarama Krisna Shastry, learnt Bhakti Shastras from Sri Krisnapremi Swamigal and Vyakarana and Sahitya Shastras from Vidwan Sri Tirumalachari of Srirangam. He also went through the conventional degree of MBA from Symbiosis. He is a consultant to Vivekananda Yoga University, Bangalore. He did a deep sadhana to realize the spiritual realities dealt in Vedas and authored many books on Vedas, Ramayana & Yoga giving their meaning and their practicality for the present age. His one of the greatest contributions in the field of Vedanta is to author the book, Gita-samanvaya bhashya which deals with the synthesis of the interpretations of Shankara, Ramanuja and Madhva. He has composed thousands of poems in Samskrit. He is the founder president of Webolim. He delivers various discourses on Vedas, Upanishads, Epics and Puranas throughout India and abroad.
  1. Dr. Kalyanaraman, Director of Saraswathi Research Centre. Former Director of Asian Development Bank and former financial advisor to Indian Railways. Scholar of great repute, he did pioneering work in scientifically proving the Saraswathi River and now working for reviving it. He brought out the multi lingual comparative dictionary for 25 Indian languages.
  1. Shri T Mohan MSc, YTIC, is the Registrar of Vivekananda Yoga University, Bangalore. He has been training many Yoga teachers since 1983. He is an important disciple of Dr H.R.Nagendra. He has a deep spiritual insight.
  1. Prof Ramachandra Bhat, PhD, is the dean of the division of Yoga & Spirituality in Vivekananda Yoga University, Bangalore. Brought up in the traditional way in Samskrit, He completed his Vidwat in Samskrit. He also went through the conventional degree, Master's degree in the same subject including PhD from Mysore University. He started teaching in Janaseva Vidyashala, a residential school near Bangalore and developed many novel teaching techniques for effective communication. In he founded Veda Vijnana Gurukulam near Bangalore. He has participated in numerous Sanskrit, philosophical conferences in different parts of the country and is involved in active research and published various articles and papers in the journals.
Venue: Exact Venue in Madurai will be informed later.
Stay Arrangements:
This workshop is open for all. It is a residential workshop for which stay & food arrangements have been done. Separate stay facilities for men and women will be arranged. Food available for participants will be nutritious and non-spicy.

Reaching Madurai from various cities

From Delhi:
TN Sampark Kranthi Express starts from New Delhi station at 7.25 AM and reaches Madurai on the third midday 3.45 AM. The train runs only on Tuesday and Thursday. For return it is well connected with train Tirukkural Exp(No. 2641 ) which runs on Wednesday only departing at 13.35 PM. There are many trains from Delhi to Chennai from where trains can be changed for Madurai.
From Mumbai:
Well connected with trains like Nagarcoil Exp (No. 6339) staring from Mumbai CST at 12.05 AM and reaching Madurai next day at 22.35 PM. The trains on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Also Madurai Exp (No. 1043) connect Mumbai to Madurai on fridays.
From Chennai:
Well connected with Madurai with nearly 13 to 14 trains per day to and fro.
From Bangalore:
Tuticorin Express (No. 6732) starts from Bangalore city at 21.15 PM everyday and reaches Madurai the next day at 7.40 AM.
From Trivandrum:
Anantapuri Exp (No. 6124) connects both Trivandrum & Ernakulam to Madurai which comes to Trivandrum at 16.20 PM and reaches madurai at 23.00 PM. One more train from trivandrum is Guvuvayur Chennai Exp (No. 6128) For return, Anantapuri (No. 6123) starts at 04.15 AM from Madurai Junction.
From Hyderabad:
There is no direct train from Hyderabad. With three trains to Chennai, Hyderabad is well connected. Chennai express Charminar express and Kacheguda � Chennai express reach Chennai everyday morning at 5.55 AM, 8.15 AM and 6.40 AM respectively. From Chennai there are nearly 13 to 14 trains per day to and fro.
From Warangal:
There is no direct train from Hyderabad. GT Express starts from Warangal everyday at 7.40 PM and reaches Chennai next day morning at 6.15 AM. Tamil Nadu Express starts from Warangal everyday at 8.50 PM and reaches Chennai next day morning at 7.10 AM. Gangakaveri Express starts in Warangal every Thursday at 10.30 PM and reaches Chennai on Friday morning 9.50 AM. There are also Jaipur and Andaman Express every Thursday night, reaching Chennai on Friday morning. There is also Charminar express everday night at 8.35 PM, reaching Chennai next day morning at 8.15 AM. From Chennai there are nearly 13 to 14 trains per day to and fro. For return, Charminar express starts from Chennai at 6.10 PM and reaches Warangal at 4 AM. Tamil Nadu express starts at night 10 PM and reaches Warangal next day morning 7 AM. There is also Chennai Jaipur express everyday.
Through Air: Madurai is well connected to all cities with airlines like Air Deccan, Indian Airlines, Go Air, Jet, Paramount and Sahara etc.

Venue and dates for the workshop on Vedas

Hello,

The venue for the workshop on Vedas has been
finalised. As you would be knowing the theme of the
camp is "�Significance of Vedic Culture in Ancient
Dravidian Literature�.

Camp will start on 11th August night around 7 PM and
end on 13th August (Sunday) evening around 5 PM.


Stay Arrangements:
This camp is open for all. It is a residential camp
for which stay & food arrangements have been done.
Separate stay facilities for men and women will be
arranged. Food available for participants will be a
nutritious non-spicy food. The venue is a marriage
hall where minimum requirements of stay will be met.

If someone wants separate stay arrangements, they can
book room in a nearby hotel called �Hotel Lake View
Park� which is 700 meters from the venue. It charges

Background:
Web of Life Makers (Webolim) is an organisation which
spreads the Vedic values in everyday life.To demystify
Vedas and Ramayana, lectures, camps, workshops,
classes, demonstrations are conducted in various
places.

Recent camps conducted were in Karimnagar (Nov 4th to
Nov 6th), Madurai (27th Jan to 29th Jan) and Bangalore
(June 2nd to June 4th). These camps had participants
from various cities like Hyderabad, Jaipur and
Bangalore etc. On continuing this endeavor, we are
planning the next camp in Chennai.

No prior knowledge of Sanskrit, Vedas are required for
the participants. The lectures will be in English. The
camp is open for all. All the camps will have a theme
based on Vedas. Some of the topics in which Webolim
has conducted the camps are “Concept of Social Service
in Vedas & Ramayana”, “Life forces in Vedas” & “Vedic
Yoga” etc
